Dave The Dishwasher

Dave is asked to carry the weight of the world on his shoulders.

He said yes.

Like an idiot.

From a writing point of view Dave The Dishwasher was the crazy and weird story I would come up with at work to past the time, what if a guy like me was told he was some kind of chosen one. I know I would think it was a pretty easy gig, so did Dave, but I also know that it would bring with it an incredible amount of stress, danger (both to yourself and others) and sorrow. I liked the idea that as a way to get better as a writer to use Dave The Dishwasher as a kitchen sink of ideas, anything goes, but what started out as almost a throw away story eventually became a personal journey.

A personal journey where I would accept my life for what it is, instead of seeking the adventures I saw in movies, TV and other stories, I saw that my life was already an adventure. All I needed was a little change in perspective. At the time I’m writing this Dave The Dishwasher is unfinished, but not forgotten, while his story ends abruptly for us, I still hear echoes from his area of my imagination, and when I need to go on another personal journey he’ll be there to guide my hands as I type his next adventure.

The stories will be posted on this website as they are in my documents. Because I’m lazy.

As it stands right now the reading order for DTD goes…

In Review (First story I wrote but not overly important)
The Sea of Green
Steal My Sunshine (Set in between The Wild Sky and Lords)
You Can’t Quit Me Baby (Non-Canon but can be read as ODD backstory)
Mayonaise

Enjoy the story!
